BYERS GYM*KIDS
is a family owned and operated gymnastics program that has been in business since 1972. Originating in Northern California, Gym*Kids expanded in 1989, offering its exciting and unique program to the San Diego Area.
Gymnastics Promotes Reading-Readiness Skills
by promoting the following: body-hand image, balance, locomotion, agility, active and static balance, finger/hand/eye interaction, motor planning, form and space perception, identification or body parts, decision shifting-change of pattern, shape and space, pattern orientation, eye tracking, perceptual-motor body image, directionality, hand-eye coordination, three dimensional-form perception, small and large muscle coordination, sensory discrimination, auditory factors, attention span, imitating , creative expression, weight and time concepts, social knowledge, weight transfer, color recognition, number recognition and development of time and speed sense.

Gym Rotations
are well planned in advance. A gym rotation is the schedule that each class follows during the regular class hour. It consists of warm-up exercises, floor exercises, two of the rotations events and conditioning exercises.

Basic Gymnastics Skills Lists [BGSL]
are kept for each gymnast. Every class, from the youngest to the oldest, have skills and goals to be achieved. When the skills are mastered at one level the gymnast then moves to the next skill level.

Class Size:
We try very hard to keep our student/teacher ratio low so each child receives the attention they need. Parent Participation classes can have as many as 15 because of the parental assistance. Tot classes normally range from 5-7 students and the Kinders and Basic classes usually have up to 8 students.

Exhibitions/Byers Summer Olympics:
An important part of the gymnasts skills and progress is taking part in the class exhibitions (mini meet), which takes place in December and our summer Olympics that we do in August. The children enjoy showing off their newly mastered skills and receiving ribbons and medals.

Team Competitions:
Not all children or parents desire to be a member of a competitive team. If you are interested in becoming involved in the team program please let the office know and we will have a coach contact you.

Other Exciting Programs:
Birthday Parties
Scout Badge Programs
Off Premise
School Field Trips
Sleepovers
Gymnastics for Spirit Squads
Exhibition Programs

Please contact the office for more information.

Class Schedule:
We make every effort to schedule classes so that parents with children of differing ages and abilities can enroll tier children on the same day and at the same time. We often have five or six different classes being conducted simultaneously
