2006 National Judges Cup Qualifier

Congratulations to all our Level 7 Judges Cup Qualifier competitors!  This competition was held at San Jose State University on December 10, 2005.  This was the first Level 7 competition for our new optionals: Alissa Barbero, Kim Bee, Savannah Cabading, Megan Caniglia, Paige Elson, Feliz Moreno, Quetzal Moreno, Arielle Nerida, Shelby O'Brien, Alexis Pettis, Catherine Smith.  Megan Delallo joined the group as a veteran optional competitor.  Her confidence and experience were apparent by her fantastic performances on all four events.  All of the girls had an outstanding first meet and showed promise for an exciting season starting in 2006.  Congratulations again!

Aloha Gymfest

What incredible time in Hawaii!!!  Over the weekend of January 14-16 our team had the experience of a lifetime!  From meeting athletes and families from all over the world, to competing great gymnastics,  the last week summarizes everything that gymnastics and Byers is all about; fun, hard work, competitive greatness, lots of laughter, and team unity!

National Qualifiers:  Katelyn Mohr, Lauren Eller, Francesca Mercurio, Tanya Ho.  These girls all had incredible meets and will be continuing their season in Oklahoma City!  Keep cheering them on in the gym and when they travel April 28th-30th.

Jessica Mathews had an Amazing meet and hit 4 for 4 with the highest all around of her career!  She competed in an incredibly tough session against many elites that returned to 10 this year, so unfortunately qualifying was extremely difficult!  Still, her drive and persistence throughout this season and the meet has earned her respect and a huge Congratulations.  Stephanie and Nicola both had fantastic competitions as well, coming back from rough bar sets to finish the competition with strong, solid routines.  We are so proud of their amazing season and careers at Byers and can't wait to watch as they head off to college to continue their careers (please check out the "college corner" for more info)!
